CBIL Project Manager Team Share 40+ years of Expertise

The State of Missouri has made available the Customized Training Grant program for eligible businesses within the State of MO. This program is available for businesses operating in Missouri, for Missouri residents that are employed by MO businesses.

A company qualifies by the following criteria:

  • Creating new jobs in the State
  • Retaining jobs in the State
  • Generating new products or services
  • Pay wages of $12.00 per hour or more to employees
  • Show proof of participating in E-Verify
  • Can submit a Tax Clearance Letter from the Department of Revenue to show they are current on their taxes

The program works like this:

A company works with SLCC /CBIL to make application for this program. The application is submitted to the State by June 1, 2011. The Dept of Economic Development, Division of Workforce Development will review the application and make their award between July 1 and the end of August. The grant program will begin July 1, 2011 and end May 31, 2012 no matter when you are awarded the grant.

The grant will outline the training needs that your company has for this fiscal year. Eligible training may include equipment training, Lean Principles: 5S Value Stream Mapping, Leadership training, Assessment Services, Job Profiling, Industrial Maintenance Training, to include PLC series of programs, ISO9000 and AS9100 development and training, and Customer Service related courses. A business may choose to have their employees deliver the training or CBIL may be available to deliver customized training to fit your business goals.

Once you have been awarded your grant you work with CBIL to submit eligible reimbursable expenses and matching expenses throughout the fiscal year. There will be a Project Manager that will work with you during the entire year to make this process easy. The Project Managers are very knowledgeable of the program and can answer all of your questions.

Let me explain further: The State may award $20K grant. This means that you need to show expenses for trainer wages, development of training program, preparation of training and or vendor TRAINING expenses, and student materials which represent $20K reimbursable expenses.

Also you must show $20K of matching expenses such as student wages, trainer and student fringe benefits, vendor expenses that exceed $150.00 per hour.

Each month you will submit expenses of training that has happened to your Project Manager. We will bill the State on your behalf. You will receive your reimbursement check at the end of the year for the grant amount provided you have turned in all of matching expenses.

CBIL and your PM make up over 40+ years of experience of working with the State DWD and businesses throughout the St. Louis Metro area. We are here to answer any questions you may have. Contact Don Robison or 314-539-5305 no later than March 15 to start the process. Please contact your project manager if you are already participating in the grant program.
