With
instruction delivered by CleanEdison, this coursework prepares you for the nationally
recognized Building Performance Institute certification-BPI Building Analyst.
You also gain the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct residential energy
audits. After completion of the course, you'll understand how a house should
work as a system, why some homes are not efficient, and how to use the latest
building science technology to help resolve residential heating, cooling, base
load and air leakage problems. You will address a comprehensive range of
interrelated building issues, using a "whole house" performance-based approach.
And, you will be able to provide your clients and customers the information they
need to maintain a more comfortable, durable and energy-efficient home.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic building science and/or construction experience is strongly
recommended, along with familiarity of residential electricity, hand tools and
the ability to read measuring devices.
Schedule
March 22-26, 2010, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
at the Construction Technology Lab on the Florissant Valley campus. Training
consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction, 12 hours of field training and 4
hours of test preparation. Written and field tests are included.
Program Cost
$1,595 and includes BPI on-line testing and proctored field testing. Dislocated
workers and other unemployed individuals may qualify for tuition support by
utilizing Individual Training Accounts under WIA funding.
