Who We Are

The Center for Business, Industry and Labor (CBIL) was organized in 1984 by St. Louis Community College for the purpose of forging partnerships with business, industry, labor, government and other institutions to improve employee performance. Our staff, instructors and consultants are committed to being an integral driving factor in the economic viability of the St. Louis region.

Celebrating over 20 years of service, CBIL is the largest provider of training and consulting services in the St. Louis metropolitan area. CBIL has trained more than 50,000 employees representing over 75 local companies.

The CBIL team of staff, instructors and consultants assist companies from conception of training to assessment and impact. Our services range from developing assessments tools to help select the right candidate to implementing cutting edge training concepts such as 5S System and Value Stream Mapping. Our team also assists companies find and secure available funding to offset the cost of training.

Training and consulting is available through e-learning, on-site and/or at one of our three conference centers including the Downtown Education Center, the South County Education and Training Center and the Florissant Valley Training Center. All of our Centers include large conference rooms as well as state-of-the-art computer workstations.

Our vision is to become our region’s recognized provider of innovative, measurable effective services and products specifically designed to help our clients enhance the business performance of their employees and processes.
