Participants will interact with the program through knowledge checks, real-life scenarios, and examples. Throughout the program, participants are encouraged to think about how their behaviors can help create a harassment-free environment.
Most participants can complete this course in one hour. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an understanding of what sexual harassment is and specify their rights and responsibilities as they relate to sexual harassment. Four types of sexual harassment are presented and participants are encouraged to learn not only to identify the types of behavior that fit within the categories, but to differentiate between appropriate and inappropriate behavior between employees and their co-workers and supervisors. A discussion of intent and impact is included in the program in order to help participants differentiate between intentional and inadvertent comments and behaviors. Finally, the range of recourse available to participants is presented, along with a response skill that can be practiced during the session.
