The IT Help Desk Technician course prepares entry-level Information Technologists for work as Customer Service and Help Desk Professionals in the Desktop services and applications domain. Participants will develop skills such as: installing, maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting hardware components, deploying desktop operating systems and applications, deploying and maintain networking protocols and topologies, and designing desktop and network security. Desktop operating systems explored are: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Windows Vista, and Linux. Additional information will be provided to allow students to pursue CompTIA and Microsoft vendor certifications. More information on IT Help Desk Technician Program.
Prerequisites
Students taking this course should already have the following computer
knowledge:

March 8, 2010 (6 weeks), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Downtown Education Center of St. Louis
Community College (across the street from Busch Stadium), 300 South Broadway,
St. Louis, MO 63102.
Program Cost
$4,950 and includes all training materials, lab manuals and CompTIA and
Microsoft exam vouchers. Dislocated workers and other unemployed individuals may
qualify for tuition support by utilizing Individual Training Accounts under WIA
funding.
