Business Practice Leader for The Lean Enterprise
George
Friesen, MA
George Friesen has been a Lean Consultant and Business Practice Leader with
the Center for Business, Industry and Labor since April 2000. To the CBIL
team, he brings extensive experience in the areas of product development,
staff development and training, management, public relations, marketing and
strategic planning, and process improvement consulting.
Prior to joining CBIL, George worked for Maritz Performance Improvement
Company, serving as a Training Manager, Training Director, and Product
Development Manager. George has worked on major performance improvement
programs for Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of industries including
automotive, telecommunications, public utilities,
manufacturers/distributors, and in the retail/service sector. He has led
highly successful 5S implementation campaigns across a wide variety of
industries, including automotive, metal fabricating, construction supply
distribution, chemical/biological, printing services, and food products.
Friesen’s undergraduate degree is from Washington University and his MA is
from Webster University. Following his graduation from Washington University
he served as a pilot in the United States Air Force.
